This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website or use our mobile application. It is drafted in compliance with the Data Protection Act of Botswana (2024). By using Eve-25, you consent to the data practices described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
We collect only the data necessary to facilitate trusted connections between Clients and Service Providers and to improve market liquidity.
1.1. Personal Data (Clients)
When you request a booking or create a profile, we may collect:
• Identity Data: Full Name.
• Contact Data: Phone Number (for WhatsApp communication) and Email Address.
• Event Data: Event Date, Event Location (e.g., "Phakalane"), and Event Type (e.g., "Wedding," "Patlo").
• Budgetary Data: Estimated budget range for services (to qualify leads).
1.2. Business Data (Service Providers)
When you register as a Service Provider, we collect:
• Business Identity: Business Name, Owner Name, and Physical Location (Operating City).
• Verification Data: Portfolio images (proof of past work), pricing structures ("Starting Prices"), and service descriptions.
• Reputation Data: History of bookings and reviews received from Clients.
1.3. Usage & Technical Data
We automatically collect data on how you interact with the Platform to improve our matching algorithms:
• Search History: Keywords used (e.g., "Tents in Gaborone").
• Device Information: IP address, browser type, and mobile operating system.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your data for specific, legitimate business purposes:
• To Facilitate Bookings: We share Client contact details with Service Providers only when a Booking Request is explicitly made, enabling the Service Provider to contact you via WhatsApp or Phone.
• To Verify Users: We use Service Provider portfolio data to conduct manual audits and award "Verified" status badges, ensuring safety for all users.
• To Improve the Platform: We analyze search patterns to identify market gaps (e.g., "High demand for DJs in Francistown") and guide our expansion strategy.
• Communication: To send you booking confirmations, security alerts, and administrative updates.
3. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal data to third-party advertisers.
We may share your information in the following strict circumstances:
• With Service Providers: If you are a Client, we share your Booking Request details with the specific Service Provider you have chosen to contact.
• Legal Obligations: We may disclose information if required to do so by Botswana law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., a court order).
• Business Transfers: In the event of a merger or acquisition, user data may be transferred as a business asset, subject to confidentiality agreements.
4. Data Security
We employ administrative, technical, and physical security measures to protect your personal data.
MVP Limitation: Please be aware that during our MVP (Beta) phase, payments are handled off-platform directly between Client and Service Provider. Eve-25 does not store or process credit card numbers or banking details.
While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal data, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.
5. Your Rights (Botswana Data Protection Act)
Under the Data Protection Act, you have the following rights regarding your data:
• Right to Access: You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Right to Correction: You may request that we correct any inaccurate or incomplete data (e.g., updating your phone number).
• Right to Erasure ("Right to be Forgotten"): You may request the deletion of your account and personal data, provided there are no active disputes or pending bookings.
• Right to Withdraw Consent: You may withdraw your consent to data processing at any time by closing your account.
6. Third-Party Links & WhatsApp
Our Platform may facilitate communication via WhatsApp. Please note that once you leave the Eve-25 platform to communicate on WhatsApp, your interactions are governed by WhatsApp's Privacy Policy. We maintain a record of the booking request but do not monitor the content of your private off-platform messages.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Effective Date."
